Why Install a Septic Tank Riser?

A septic tank riser is basically a "connection" that goes from your buried septic tank to the surface your yard. A septic riser enables a septic tank to be buried a few feet beneath the earth while simultaneously allowing easy access when it becomes necessary to pump out the tank or for a cleaning or inspection.

The Septic Tank itself is normally buried, several feet underground, which helps eliminate the very real possibility of odor leakage. Secure septic covers also prevent odor leakage. However, there are serious drawbacks to not having a riser. WIthout a riser, access to the tank for cleaning and maintenance becomes difficult and more costly. With no riser installed, you must dig out the septic tank’s top surface and then find the septic tank lid (the access point). It’s easier in the long run to have a riser installed with a lid.

Generally, Alm & Son Septic Service offers to install Risers made of three different materials. However, if the customer has another type of riser in mind, it is very likely that we would be able to install that as well.
